Tisdale Dance Centre offers classes in 10 different genres of dance including Arco, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Pointe, Song & Dance and Musical Theatre.
TDC is also a CDTA and RAD qualified studio offering exams in Jazz, Tap, Ballet and Acro.
Tisdale Dance Centre runs a five level dance program. Dancers are offered a place within the level and class(es) that will most assist them to grow as a dancer. Further information regarding levels, classes and tuition is on our Tuition and Fees page.
Dance and Play is an exciting way for you and your child to enter the dance world and join the TDC family!
The Dance and Play class is for your 3 year old dancer. The class begins in September and wraps up at the end of April. It is a beautiful start to dance as thru Dance and Play the students get a feel for the studio, music and the movement of dance once a week in a 30 minute class.
The Dance and Play class requires in studio participation only as this group of students will not compete in Dance Experience or participate in Recital.
Tiny Tot dance is a really exciting class where your dancer aged 4/5 can take both ballet and tap in the same 45 minute time slot providing quality physical dance activity!
Each Tiny Tot dancer ends the season participating in Dance Experience and/or Recital.
Arco Dance is a style of dance that combines classical dance technique with precision acrobatic elements.
We are very fortune to have two of our own Instructors; Dana Mutimer and Chelsea Edwards CDTA certified in Acro Dance!
Arco Dance is offered to all dancers ages 7 and up.
Beginner Acro is offered to all dancers ages 4-6.
Ballet is the foundation of all dance. Through ballet dancers learn poise, grace, self-confidence and a self-discipline that they carry throughout all dance and into life.
The Royal Academy of Dance (R.A.D.) Syllabus is taught at TDC with the option of taking exams. R.A.D. provides students with a sound knowledge of ballet steps, emphasizes a high standard of performance and encourages a love for dance and the art of movement.
Dancers who already take a regular ballet class and ballet exam class can progress toward pointe work at the appropriate level.
Jazz is an athletic style of dance that provides strength and flexibility training for a dancer.

It is recommended that students start tap at a young age to learn the skills. TDC does not enrol dancers who are new to tap into tap classes who are 12 years or older.

Hip-hop is a popular style of dance that refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. Hip Hop students learn a funky style of dance of which incorporates a wide range of styles including breaking, locking, popping, levels and tricks.
Along side the regular Hip Hop Class, TDC also offers an exclusive Boys Hip Hop Class to boys ages 6-12!
Recreation Hip Hop & Jazz is a fun and low key 30 minute class that combines the excitement of both Hip Hop and Jazz dance styles.
Our recreational class does not require a costume as there is no attendance to competitions or recital.
This class is for ages 10 and up.
Song and Dance is a theatrical performance combining live singing and dancing.
This class is for ages 10 and up.
Musical Theatre is an exciting class that teaches drama, acting, dance and lip synching skills!
Strength & Conditiong class is the perfect environment for a dancer to be nurtured to grow as the class focuses on turnout, flexibility and strength which in turn aids and fosters all dance disciplines.
TDC offers the S&C class as the schedule allows.
